TULSA -- A salon owner is terrified for her life after a series of violent attacks on her business.
Jamie Sill is scared that the man who trashed her salon will strike again once he is released from prison.
Tracy Coons is being held in the Tulsa County Jail on three misdemeanor charges of damage to property.
Sill said he targeted their business four times. The first time she said he wrote "Do not enter my house" on their front windows. She said several times after that he dumped trash outside the front of her business. Next, he wrote "Do not enter my house" on a brick and threw it at the windows.
"He got a sledge hammer and hit the window here and over there and calmly went back to his car and drove away," Sill said of the fourth incident.
Before bashing her windows, she said he hung a sign on the salon that said "Do not enter my house."
The salon was full of customers when he came the fourth time. Sill said everyone ran to hide, because they were fearful that he had a gun.
Police arrested Coons at the end of September and charged him with three misdemeanors.
Sill was told by police when Coons was arrested they found kerosene in his car.
"He told the police officer that someone has been trying to break into his house and he finally had to do something about it," Sill said.
She does not know why he chose her salon, because no one who works at the salon has ever met Coons before.
She is considering changing the name of the salon hoping to keep him away.
Sill is terrified that when Coons is released he will strike again.
"Why would he not? At the rate that we saw him the last time, it escalated every time that he came back," Sill said. "It escalated to something bigger to the point that I think he is trying to set us on fire."
Sill is frustrated. She said because Coons was charged with misdemeanors and not a felony, he will not be able to get the help he needs.
She is also frustrated because she does not believe there are adequate options to protect someone in her situation.
The District Attorney's Office said she can call the police if she suspects a crime is being committed or file for a protective order.
Sill filed for a protective order Wednesday afternoon, but she does not think it will keep Coons away when he gets out of jail. Others have suggested she get a concealed handgun license.
"I really might be faced with taking someone's life and this man is not just someone sho has been torturing us," Sill said. "He's someone's son. I don't want to have that on me for the rest of my life."
Coons is due in court Thursday morning at 9 a.m. He is being held on a $1,500 bond.
