After 31 years of being known as Big Splash, Tulsa’s most popular water park is undergoing changes and Safari Joe's H20 plans to open on Memorial Day with new attractions.
The Silver Bullet water slide will be replaced by three new slides named “Reptile Rush” and according to park staff the current improvements are much needed.
Park manager, Amber Woessner, is overseeing improvements and says she is excited to unveil the new feature attractions this summer.
“It was old. Things were out and with time you have to replace things and this is something new,” Woessner said.
Owner Matthew Estes officially acquired the park in October and plans to make changes within the park before the expected grand opening on Memorial Day of 2016.
As of now, the park will maintain a connection with the Big Splash name and overtime Estes plans to rebrand the venue with the Safari Joe theme.
Live animals will be displayed in the water park to allow visitors to learn more about wildlife.
