OKLAHOMA CITY -- Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week after leading the team to a perfect record.
During games played Dec. 18-24, Westbrook helped the team achieve a 4-0 record behind averages of 29.8 points on 59.8 percent shooting, 9.5 assists, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
His triple-double against Utah on Saturday represented his 11th of the season and 90th of his career.
It marks the 16h time Westbrook has won the player of the week award during his career.
After a Christmas Day 112-107 victory against Houston, the Thunder sits at fifth place in the Western Conference standings at 19-15.
