TULSA - One person was rushed to the hospital and died not long after due to a rollover wreck on northbound Highway 75 Tuesday morning closing those lanes temporarily.
Tulsa police are investigating after a small pickup truck flipped over near 41st Street and Union Avenue exit.
EMSA paramedics transported the driver of the pickup in critical condition but later reported that the person died from injuries.
Police say another driver, later identified as Tsakururetahkats Shawnee, hit the truck on the highway and then tried to leave the scene. Officers caught up with Shawnee about a half a mile away, however, from the accident.
After catching up to Shawnee, police found signs indicating that he had been drinking. According to police, Shawnee had to be helped to the patrol car.
After being transported to the OSU Medical Center, police also found marijuana and Tramadol in Shawnee's pocket.
Shawnee was arrested for manslaughter in the first degree, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
One northbound lane on Highway 75 has been reopened before the exit, while officers continue to investigate.
