NORMAN, Okla. — Liquid-handling robots will fly through hundreds of COVID-19 extractions in Norman every hour.

The bots are supplied by Norman-based company Immy, which manufactures and distributes tests for infectious diseases like the coronavirus.

Immy partnered with the University of Oklahoma to help with COVID testing.

OU researchers and graduate students developed a process to extract the viral genetic material needed for coronavirus testing. The robots will speed up that process by performing the extraction themselves.
