Bates denied bail at Tuesday's hearing

TULSA - A former Tulsa County reserve deputy was denied bail Tuesday at a hearing after a jury found him guilty of manslaughter.

Bates was convicted of killing Eric Harris during a sting operation in 2015.

In the hearing Tuesday, Bates' attorney filed a motion asking that Bates be let out of jail on bond before his sentencing in late May.

The district attorney filed a motion before the hearing asking the judge to deny the bail request.
