TULSA — According to officials with River Parks Authority, W!LD TURKEY, the signature fall fundraiser at the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness site, starts at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Officials say the event will be held at the main trailhead of the Wilderness, located at 6800 South Elwood Avenue.
The evening will feature Bluegrass music from Klondike 5 and the majestic Birds of Prey, presented by a rescue, rehabilitation and release organization, Raptors Keep, officials say. Attire is 'blue jean casual' and will have a BBQ dinner, desserts and beverage selections that include craft beers and local whiskeys.
Other activities will include moonlight walks in the Wilderness trails, bonfires, and viewing a 3D model of Turkey Mountain.
Officials say the May-June 2019 flood event on the Arkansas River left the River Parks with "unprecedented damage".
"The flood brought an outpouring of support, with the donation of hundreds of volunteer hours and numerous monetary gifts," said King Davis. "As Trustees of this amazing park, we knew W!LD TURKEY would be a perfect occasion to raise additional funds toward River Parks' flood repair cost obligation. The W!LD TURKEY patrons who will join us this evening have invested in one of Tulsa's premier outdoor recreation areas and we are grateful to Tulsa's corporate and philanthropic community for supporting our efforts."
