BIG CABIN, Okla. — Residents of Big Cabin, Okla. have been complaining for several months about the quality of air.
Not from the countless semi trucks that pass through, but rather from a meat processing plant.
Leslie Thomas, who lives across from the plant, said the smell creeps into his home on hot days.
“Sometimes when the air conditioner is running when it was getting a little warm, you could smell it start to come in,” Thomas said.
City officials told 2 Works for You they are working on resolution.
City Clerk Rita Moore said the smell is horrific.
“It’s just a horrific stink," Moore said. "I guess you could say dried blood, old blood.”
2 Works for You reached out the plant in person and over the phone, but it declined to comment.
The city engineer for Big Cabin said the city has hired an attorney to deal with the issue.
