TULSA, Okla. — Residents at the Montereau Retirement Community are making an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The “Montereau Mask Makers” are doing their part to make sure people in the community have masks.

It started when one resident, Nancy Stainer, learned that her niece's friend worked at a local hospital and needed a mask.

Stainer made 25 masks and donated them to other first responders.

Since then, the mask making group has grown. To date, the group has made 1,900 masks for residents, employees, family and friends.

“We are all in this together," Stainer said."The more we can do to keep everyone safe, the better.”

The Montereau Mask Makers are accepting donations of cotton fabric and interfacing. If you are interested in donating, please contact Nancy Moore at nmoore@montereau.net.
