TULSA -- A 16-inch water line that broke at 21st and Peoria on Tuesday, causing street flooding and pavement buckling, will be replaced.
The replacement will begin Thursday and the intersection will remain closed through the weekend. The street near the break will also be repaired.
Officials said the water line was installed early in the 20th century.
Construction will begin Thursday on 21st Street at Owasso Avenue and east of Peoria.
Officials said that next week, it is likely that one lane in each direction will be opened at 21st Street, with access to turn north on Peoria. Officials said the entire project is estimated to last four weeks.
