Redeveloping BA's Elm and New Orleans district

BROKEN ARROW — Happening today we'll learn the next steps to redevelop an old shopping district in Broken Arrow, to bring it back to life.

We first told you back in May of last year when the city hired a national consultant to study the Elm and New Orleans commercial district, which was turning into a retail ghost town.

It used to be the home of the city's first national restaurant chain and retail stores, but many left the area when major retailers like Hobby Lobby moved to the north side of Broken Arrow.

Over the past year, the consultants have been developing a plan to revitalize the area.

A meeting will be held tonight to share the findings of that study.

It'll take place from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Broken Arrow Nazarene Church at 401 West New Orleans Street.

The meeting is open to the public.
