The sweet sounds of music in Tulsa today is actually helping families battle cancer.

The "Red Dirt's Answer to Cancer" benefit concert happened near west 7th and 81st West Avenue.

Proceeds go to the Oklahoma Network for Families Fighting Childhood Cancer.

Organizers put on the concert in memory of Andy Lewis, who died from Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2014.

One of the organizers for the event, Ben Stanton, tells us "in the meantime we found a different outfit as we continued on with the benefit to help children fighting cancer, where all the proceeds to help the children that all need a little bit of help."

A silent auction was also held in hopes of raising thousands of dollars to help fight cancer.
