UPDATE - Rogers County Sheriff's deputies report hours-long standoff in Owasso ends late Monday evening with man's suicide.

OWASSO, Okla. -- Rogers County and Owasso authorities reported to a residence early Monday evening where a man showed homicidal and suicidal tendencies, they said.

Deputies said an event happened recently that made him depressed and it built up until he threatened to kill himself Monday. They say his wife intervened and he threatened to kill her as well with a gun in his possession.

The wife, who was able to get out of the house safely, called police. As the hours grew late into the night, the man was still inside the home in the 10000 block of N. 157th E. Ave. with gun. Authorities had not been able to make contact with the man as of 10:35 p.m.

Deputies also said the couple have two children but they were able to get out of the house like their mom.
