OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police are investigating after racist graffiti was sprayed outside the office of the Oklahoma Democratic Party overnight Thursday.
NonDoc.com reports that a swastika, the symbol 1488 and other Nazi references were painted outside the building, which is located at 3700 North Classen Boulevard in Oklahoma. Language demonizing the LGBTQ community and African Americans was also seen outside the building.
Gov. Kevin Stitt called the situation "abhorrent" in a tweet Thursday.
This language written on the doors of the @OKDemocrats HQ is abhorrent. It does not reflect who we are as a state. @nondocmedia https://t.co/YDxltevK69

The building is managed by Oklahoma Property Investigators, a company owned by former Oklahoma Governor David Walters. Walters called the situation "unfortunate."
“We hope the hate crimes we see across the country don’t arrive at our doorstep. But they do inevitably,” he said. “It’s just more evidence of what divisive and inflammatory rhetoric is doing to our culture.”
Oklahoma City police say they are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime.
