Quinton neighbors witness rig explosion

QUINTON - Emergency officials are expected to give an update on the recovery efforts in Quinton where a rig drilling for natural gas exploded Monday.

Neighbors in nearby Quinton not only saw the smoke and flames coming from the rig Monday, but they also heard the explosion.

2 Works For You spoke with a mother and daughter who said they first heard the explosion from their home early Monday morning.

”When a tragedy happens everybody comes together you know and pulls for everybody else and prays and supports everybody,” said Tina Rhodes.

“Not knowing where the five men missing are is just devastating and I feel so bad for their families because they don’t know,” said Brittany Schuetz.

Emergency management said the update is expected to start around 10 a.m.

2 Works For You will have live updates.
