Public invited to funeral for homeless veteran who died in frigid Tulsa temps

Friends of a homeless man who died in frigid Tulsa temperatures are asking the public to attend his memorial service on Friday.

The Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless confirmed Zaki Holder, 39, died on Jan. 18, a night when temps were below freezing. His body was found near a downtown hotel.

According to friends, Holder was a U.S. veteran.

His service will be held at The Merchant, located at Sixth and Peoria, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.

The Merchant website, it says the group is dedicated to providing hospitality and healing in the Name of Jesus for the poor and homeless. "We are a partnership of individuals and ministries, coming together for a common purpose," it says.
