PSO, Port Authority agree to land deal to spur economic development

INOLA, Okla. — Public Service Company of Oklahoma’s is transferring more than 2,000 acres at the Inola River-Rail Site to the City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority to spur economic development.

The property is located along the Verdigris River, which is part of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.

Tissue manufacturing giant Sofidel purchased 240 acres at the site to construct a $360 million facility that will employ 300 people.

According to officials, PSO will continue to provide electricity for the property.
