TULSA (AP) -- Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler says he's asked the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for a special audit and an investigation into undisclosed irregularities in the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Inmate Trust Account.
Kunzweiler said in a news release Tuesday that First Assistant District Attorney John David Luton was contacted by the auditor's office Jan. 13 and told of irregularities found during an annual audit.
A special audit was then requested into the trust account, which is used by inmates to purchase items from the county jail's commissary.

Kunzweiler says he formally asked on Tuesday for the OSBI to assist in the investigation.
The sheriff's office has been under fire since a reserve deputy shot and killed an unarmed man last April.
