TULSA – The Problem Solvers help a woman with an eye sore of a dilapidated property right on the other side of her fence.

Looking at the lot behind her with overgrown weeds and a collapsed house, Mary Campbell exclaimed, "It's a big mess."

She said, “That property back there - it's just never kept up and so it's coming over onto my side."

Campbell says the owner of the home died about seven years ago, leaving the property to his son who she says let it fall into disrepair.

After a tree fell on the house, leaving it a pile of rotting wood, Campbell said, “There's snakes, cats, possums and everything back there. And all that stuff comes over my property and I have to spray it from keeping in my backyard . . . which I'm saying is not supposed to be my problem."

Campbell says officials with the City of Tulsa told her last year that the property would be taken care of by the end of 2017.

She was egged on by her neighbors and son to call the Problem Solvers. “They said, ‘Call channel 2. Call the problem solvers.’ I said, ‘Why don't ya'll call channel 2?"

She eventually gave 2 Works for You a call and we immediately started investigating, finding out more information about the rundown property and reaching out to city leaders.

A few days later, we received an email saying the owner of the home applied for grant assistance in tearing down the house and a bid will be sought next week to have house demolished within the next 45 days.

When we called Mary Campbell with the good news, she said, “Well, thank you. I really appreciate all your work you've done because I've got nothing from nobody. I really appreciate you helping me out."
