With many Oklahoma businesses opening back up, many viewers are wondering about the plan for casinos, which will be up to each individual tribe.

One viewer asked the problem solvers, “When will casinos in the area open back up?”

In a statement, Cherokee Nation officials told 2 Works for You, “We are currently formulating our plan based on recommendations by the CDC and local health experts. Once (we) have a verified opening date, (we) will provide along with what safety measures we will be implementing to keep our employees and patrons healthy and safe. Currently, we have pledged to pay our employees through May 15.”

The latest information from Muscogee (Creek) Nation officials is that the closure of River Spirit Casino Resort and the 8 regional casinos will last until May 15. Officials say they are committed to maintaining payroll and benefits for 2,200 casino and resort employees.

Osage Nation officials told social media users they don’t have a reopening date for their seven locations yet but made a post on the Osage Casinos Facebook page on May 1 saying, “Stay tuned for exciting news on our openings. We are looking forward to seeing you soon! Stay safe!”
