Since that first batch of economic impact payments, or stimulus payments, went out, our problem solvers hotline has been flooded with calls from viewers about issues with those payments, specifically, Social Security recipients.
Many called in and asked if and when those who received Social Security payments would receive their stimulus payments and how.
According to the IRS, Social Security recipients will get their stimulus payment in the same way they get social security payments. Direct deposit is obviously a faster method, so those payments should come within a week. If you get your social security payments mailed, you will receive your check in early May.
Most questions regarding stimulus payments can be answered at IRS.gov/coronavirus. That will take you to the “Coronavirus Tax Relief and Economic Impact Payments” page where you can check your payment status, see if you are eligible for an economic impact payment and see answers to frequently asked questions.
If there is a coronavirus question you would like our problem solvers to look into, call our coronavirus hotline at 918-748-1502 and leave a message.
