We have heard from many viewers about issues they are having filing for unemployment for the first time. But there are many people who already have unemployment who are having issues.

One viewer called into our problem solvers coronavirus hotline and said, “My unemployment is running out. I know there is an extension that the federal government has given 13 weeks extension. My question is when will we be able to file for those extensions?"

Another viewer called in and said, “I'm drawing unemployment, and my check runs out in one week. They’re saying you can file for extended weeks. When do you do that?"

2 Works for You reached out to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission. An official there said, "We do not have extensions yet – the new program has some type of extension, and once we get through the guidance, and working to revise our system to allow them, we will make an announcement. It will probably be 2-3 weeks.”

If there is a coronavirus question you would like our problem solvers to look into, call our coronavirus hotline at 918-748-1502 and leave a message.
