Principal Chief gives 'State of the Nation' address for 68th Cherokee National Holiday

TULSA, Okla. — Cherokee Nation celebrated it's first-ever virtual Cherokee National Holiday this past week.

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. gave the "State of the Nation" address as part of the 68th Cherokee National Holiday.

In the address, which is posted on the Cherokee Nation Facebook page, Hoskin reported on the state of the Cherokee Nation.

We must do even more work in the coming years to make sure that our language remains alive for future generations.

Hoskin spoke on the Nation's strength in continuing to work together by helping elders and community buildings, working to save the Cherokee language and working to preserve and share Cherokee history and culture.
