POTEAU, Okla. -- A Poteau city council member has been arrested and charged with four counts of distributing meth and one count of drug conspiracy.
Poteau Police say that on January 17 just after 3pm, authorities in Northern California were assisted by investigators from the Poteau Police Department, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and District 16 Drug Task Force, in the arrest of Poteau City Council member David White.
Police say that the charges stem from from a year and a half long investigation by the above listed agencies in which White was federally indicted in the US District Court in Muskogee, Okla.
White is charged with 1 count of drug conspiracy and 4 counts of distribution of methamphetamine. White is currently incarcerated in California and awaiting extradition by federal officers back to Oklahoma.
