BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Judy Hall takes a weekly trip to Broken Arrow. She said the closure of Albany Street and Hillside Drive intersection is inconvenient.
“Even though I don’t live in Broken Arrow, when I do come I don’t want to have to, you know, find a different route,” said Hall.
Oklahoma Natural Gas is currently investigating a gas leak at the intersection which interferes with the main access road to several businesses like Los Cabos.
“Hopefully they’ll be able to find it, fix it without having to interrupt business for sure,” said Los Cabos General Manager Dawn Battey.
City officials said drivers can take a detour to Hillside Drive.
“The businesses are still open, but instead of accessing them from Albany they’ll have to take Hillside Drive from 9th street, which is known as Lynn Lane,” City of Broken Arrow Communications Director Krista Flasch.
ONG officials said the gas leak investigation can take up to two weeks to complete. Hall said she hopes it doesn’t take that long.
“Well I hope it gets fixed sooner than they think,” said Hall.
