TULSA -- A Tulsa woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after police said she left her young children alone at home.
A witness contacted police at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night and said a young child was standing in the center of the roadway on East 31st Street by himself. The two-year-old child was barefoot and did not have a shirt on.
Responding officers searched the area and could not find the parent of the child.
Eventually, police learned where the child lived, in east Tulsa near 31st and Mingo. Officers found an eight-year-old boy in the apartment, and police said the boy said his mother had left him and his brother alone in their apartment.
Police said the home was covered in eggshells, flour, noodles and peanut butter.
A security officer said that Whitney Anderson, 26, was the mother of the children and he had sseen her leave her apartment around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. She was arrested when she returned to her apartment on two counts of child endangerment and her bail was set at $50,000.
