Police: Witnesses report man beating woman in van in midtown Tulsa

TULSA -- A man was arrested Saturday after witnesses reported that he was beating a woman while in a van in midtown Tulsa.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, police received reports from the area of 4100 South Sheridan Road. Witnesses said they saw Billey Quinton beating a woman in a white van.

Officers located the van near 3400 South Sheridan Road. Officers said they saw the man holding a woman down by her neck and assaulting her.

The beating started across town at a Walgreens location, police said.

The woman was rescued from the van. She had serious injuries to her head and face and was taken to the hospital. Another woman in the van escaped.

Quinton was arrested on counts of kidnapping, felony domestic assault and hit and run.
