GORE, Okla. – Classes were canceled Thursday at Gore Public Schools due to a matter of safety.
According to the Gore Public School’s Facebook page, an “unseen police issue” prompted the schools to cancel classes. Later the school posted saying there was no longer a threat but classes were still off for the day.
Gore Public Schools further confirmed that a police standoff occurred near the elementary school campus and school officials were concerned for the safety of the students.
