Tulsa police are looking for man they say assaulted a clerk during a robbery at a QuikTrip on Friday.

According to investigators, a female clerk was working alone at the 21st and Memorial store when a man vaulted over the counter and demanded she open the register.

“The employee attempted to activate her panic button, however; the suspect saw this and cornered her,” TPD said. “The suspect then violently assaulted her but she was able to break away and move towards the back of the store.”

Before assaulting the clerk, police say the man entered the QT, went to the restroom, then walked outside where he appeared to check for possible witnesses. Then, “without warning,” he jumped over the counter, police said.

The man took cigarettes from the shelf and ran north from the store, TPD said.

Officers describe him as a black man who was wearing khaki pants and a gray hoodie with the hood cinched tightly around his face

If you have information that can help police identify the man, please notify Det. R. Warren at 918-596-9134.
