TULSA -- A scary night for one east Tulsa neighborhood after a suspect fired eight bullets into a house, looking for someone named “Leroy,” according to Police.
Houses on the street near the 3000 block of South 132nd East Ave are occupied with families.
“Most everyone here has kids and grandkids,” Michael Zoller, a neighbor said.
That’s why what happened early Tuesday morning is frightening for some residents.
“I usually don't keep the kids out front too often, probably, maybe less often now,” Zoller said. “ I’m kind of shocked to be honest. Usually nothing ever happens in this neighborhood.”
At about 3 a.m., officers were called to the scene. There, they learned five people were in the house when they heard a knock at the door and someone asking for “Leroy.”
Police said when the victim replied no one named "Leroy" lived there, the suspect then fired eight shots into the front door, shattering the glass.
“He could have just knocked on my door to be honest… not even knowing which door was the right one,” Zoller said.
Neighbors said the incident has put them on edge.
“I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for sure,” Zoller said,
No arrests have been made and investigation is ongoing.
