TULSA, OK (KJRH) — Two robberies Wednesday evening led to a pursuit and three suspects being arrested. Tulsa police say one suspect was shot by a homeowner in the 11th and Fulton area - the others arrested close by.

Police say it all started when three suspects robbed a man mowing his lawn near 9800 E 12th Street at 8:15 p.m. The suspects made off with $12.

About 30 minutes later police say the suspects struck again near 2700 E 45th Place. At that point police were concerned they would strike yet again, so surveillance footage was collected to get a description of the suspects and the car they were in.

About 15 minutes after the second robbery, police spotted the suspects' car near 11th and Sheridan and gave chase. A pursuit ended with the car crashing into a fence near 11th and Fulton. The fence separated a neighborhood and an industrial park; the suspects ran into the industrial park trying to get away.

The first suspect was captured trying to hop a fence back into the neighborhood. The other two suspects made it over the fence and continued to run.

The other two suspects ran into a backyard, where they were confronted by a homeowner. Police say the homeowner shot one of the suspects, and the other continued to run. The suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital and classified as critical.

The third suspect was captured by police shortly after the second was shot.

“He might have been with the guy that got shot, but he continued running across Fulton," said Cpl. JT Ward. "He surrendered to an officer in the street. I’m thinking that he probably heard a gunshot and decided at that point somebody was getting shot at.”

Police continued to comb the area until nearly 11 p.m. with dogs and a helicopter after multiple reports a woman was with the three suspects. They called off the search but are still working to identify and locate the woman with a possible connection to the suspects.

Three people been arrested in connection with the investigation. They were identified as Andrew Peyton, Jaylen Cooper, and another suspect, who is expected to survive a gunshot wound.

Police say after a separate investigation into the homeowner who shot one of the suspects, the homeowner, Zachariah Cook, was arrested on one count of shooting with intent to kill.
