OKLAHOMA CITY -- A rodeo bull escaped from The Stockyards in Oklahoma City on Monday night and chased several people around downtown, KOCO reported.

According to police, the bull escaped The Stockyards around 10 p.m. and started running toward downtown.

Police said one person who was nearly trampled had to jump in the Oklahoma River to escape the rampant bull.

Officers found the bull near Main and Walker, and said the bull made several attempts to run toward Bricktown.

It nearly crushed a citizen near a tire shop near Northwest 3rd Street and Walker, police said.

At least four officers contained the bull after they corralled it near Northwest 13th Street and Robinson. The bull had to be put down due to continued aggressive behavior.
