UPDATE: Arrest made in motorcycle chase, crash

Posted

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested a Tulsa man after a pursuit ended in a crash in midtown Tulsa Saturday morning.

Troopers identified the driver as 46-year-old Darnell Marshall. They say he was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail on multiple charges after being treated and released from the hospital.

OHP says troopers tried to conduct a traffic stop around 12:45 a.m. near East 31st Street and South Sheridan Road when the motorcyclist ran a red light. They say he ran several stop signs.

Troopers say the bike slowed due to mechanical issues near East 21st Street and South Maplewood Avenue. They say troopers were not able to slow down and struck the rear of the bike.

OHP says Marshall tried to run but he was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Marshall was on multiple complaints, including eluding, reckless driving, failure to stop for a red light, resisting arrest and operating a motor vehicle without headlights. He was released on bond later Saturday morning.
