OWASSO — Owasso police said a 12-year-old girl woke up to find someone standing over her bed early Friday morning.
Police said they received a 911 call at 3:30 a.m. from a woman at the Greens Apartment Complex who said she was awakened by the screams of her daughter, who woke up to find someone standing over her bed while she slept.
Officers said the unidentified person fled out the bedroom window after the child screamed for help.
The mother and child were not physically harmed, and officers found evidence inside and outside the child's bedroom that indicated someone had been inside their apartment, police said.
Police said they searched the area but were not able to locate a suspect.
Officers said they will patrol the apartment complex.
Police said they are reminding citizens to make sure to lock all their windows and doors.
