TULSA - Police said a man died at a hospital hours after a car struck his motorcycle and ran over him on U.S. 169.

Officers responded to the wreck near the 21st Street exit at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Police said a man on a motorcycle passed a car on the highway, somehow lost control and began to wobble.

Police said the man then veered into the path of the car and laid down his motorcycle on the road. When that happened, police said the driver struck the man and ran over him.

Police said the driver was not given a ticket or arrested because it appears to be an unfortunate accident.

Officers have not released the name of the motorcyclist pending notification of his family.
