TULSA - Police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old boy at Sugarberry Apartments on Monday.

At around 3:45 p.m., officers were sent to investigate a call at 10964 E. 61st St. concerning an infant that was unresponsive.

When they arrived at the Sugarberry Apartments,  EMSA officials told them there was a baby in distress. Police say first responders from the Tulsa Fire Department and EMSA were performing CPR on the infant but he remained unresponsive.  The infant, Dallas Miller, who was being cared for by his grandmother (Brenda Owens) and aunt (Eleice Lucas) inside the apartment, was transported to the hospital, according to the police report.

Police say they were told the baby was asleep on a bed in the front bedroom and rolled over. The report stated that he became wedged between the mattress and the wall.

The victim’s parents – Quintessa Owens and Frank Miller were not present, according to officers,  but showed up at the scene a short time later.  They went to the hospital with their baby who was pronounced dead there.

Child Crisis detectives were called to the hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
