Police identify body found in Illinois River last weekend

WATTS, Okla. — Grand River Dam Authority Police on Friday identified a woman whose body was found in the Illinois River on June 29.

The woman was identified as Chelsea Escobedo, 30, of Summers, Arkansas.

Police said her body was discovered by a group of floaters in an area of the river just west of the Highway 59 bridge near Watts.

Escobedo's cause of death is still under investigation.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the case.
