Want a little help getting your garden going while helping others?

Well, here's your chance.

Southwood Landscape and Garden Center is hosting its 11th annual Plant a Row for the Hungry event, benefiting the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, on Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. KJRH 2 Works for You is a proud sponsor of the event.

Plant a Row for the Hungry is open to the public, and for every non-perishable food item donated (canned goods, peanut butter, pasta, etc.) attendees will receive a free Southwood-grown tomato plant. Limit of 10 plants per person.

All proceeds go directly to the Food Bank. The goal for the event is to collect at least 10,000 pounds of donated food items.

Paul James, The Gardener Guy, will be on hand all day, and he'll be broadcasting live on KJRH 2 Works for You Weekend Morning from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tulsa County Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer gardening questions.
