MCALESTER — The Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office has canceled a silver alert for a 79-year-old man.
Deputies say that Vernon Tannehill has been located and is safe.

Deputies say that Vernon Tannehill was last seen this morning in McAlester near US Highway 69 and 2 Mile Road.
Tannehill is described as having dementia and sundowners. Deputies say Tannehill has a broken BB gun that he keeps with him.
Deputies say that Tannehill left in a 2003 white Chevy with Oklahoma plates HFN591.
If anyone knows of Tannehill's whereabouts, they are asked to call the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office.
