Philbrook Museum of Art Searching for Cat Pen Pals

TULSA — Tulsa's Philbrook Museum of Art is asking the community to be pen pals, cat pen pals to be more exact.

The museum says that the cats that roam their serene gardens are lonely due to the museum being closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

"The cats are lonely and would love to hear from you," says the museum's Facebook post. "Write them a letter and they'll write back."

The Philbrook Museum of Art, or Philbrook, as most Tulsans refer to it, encourages interested pen pals to write either Cleo or Perilla, or even both.

Perilla the Cat is described as being not only a sister to another Philbrook feline, Acer, but also the one in charge. According to the Philbrook's website, she is "happy to sit around most of the day and let others do the work, she's not only treated like royalty, she acts like it, too."

Cleo the Cat is described as being the youngest and the hunter of the pack. Cleo was left at Philbrook as a kitten and has been raised there ever since. Also, according to Philbrook's website, Cleo's favorite movie is "The Terminator."

So, if you find that you have something in common with one of these two sweet garden cats and would love to chat it out, or if you can relate to the impact of social distancing, maybe being a cat pen pal is just what the doctor ordered!

Also, an official with the Philbrook Museum of Art told 2 Work for You that you might just get your very own Cleo and Perilla autograph.
