TULSA -- The City of Tulsa said they hope to have the intersection of 21st Street and Peoria Avenue reopened by next week.
A 16 inch water main break flooded the intersection on Tuesday forcing it to close.
The waterline that broke was scheduled to be replaced, but since it broke this week the repairs will be done while the street is torn up.
The city said the hope to open one lane in each direction at the 21st Street and Peoria as early as next week.
Nearby residents were without water for several hours Tuesday, but crews worked into the night to restore it.
No one is expected to be without water while the lines are replaced.
The whole project is expected to take about four weeks to complete.
