TULSA — And with flu season ramping up, the Tulsa Health Department is extending hours at one of their health clinics today.

So far this season, 21 Oklahomans died and about 1,000 were hospitalized.

Which is why health officials will be administering flu shots at the James O. Goodwin Health Center near 51st and 129th East Avenue for just $25.

The health department tells us the vaccine isn't just for you it's also for others who may not be protected from the flu, like babies under six months or those with immune deficiencies.

Clinical Services Manager Ellen Niemitalo says, "Center for disease control only recommends one vaccine sometime during the flu season...It does remain effective through the season."

The clinic is normally open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but they will be accepting walk-ins for flu shots while supplies last 4 to 6 p.m.
