TULSA - Monday morning, a cattle truck overturned on I-44 and 161 East Avenue causing part of the road to close and killing many of the animals.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the truck was carrying more than 100 cattle when the truck rolled over.
OHP says about 20 of the cattle escaped onto the road. 52 cows were rescued from the truck, many more died. One lane of the highway reopened around 6:30 in the morning, the other lane followed shortly after, reopening around 8 Monday morning.
Cattle Update: At least 52 cows recused from the truck. Many others from the truck are dead. Possibly 20 on the loose still.
