PSO power crews worked overnight to restore electricity after an SUV went off the road and crashed into a power pole.

It happened just after midnight on Avery Drive, between Tulsa and Sand Springs.

Crews closed the street from the entrance to Chandler park to the intersection with Highway 51.

State troopers said the 2003 Ford Explorer ran off the left side of the roadway for an unknown reason, striking the pole. The SUV then rolled several times down an embankment, coming to rest on its side.

The driver 37-year-old driver was pinned for about 20 minutes, and was extricated by Sand Springs Fire Department first responders.

He was transported to the hospital in critical condition with head and bodily injuries.

As of 7 a.m. all the power had been restored, according to PSO.
