OWASSO, Okla. -- An Owasso woman was arrested after police say she allegedly left a 4-year-old in a hot vehicle.
On Friday, police responded to a Walmart on 12101 East 96th Street north after receiving a call about a child being left in a vehicle.
After arriving, Owasso Police say they discovered the 4-year-old in a Ford Ranger with the drivers side window rolled down.
The keys were in the ignition, but the vehicle wasn't on, say police. After opening the door, the young boy told police he was hot and wanted them to find the woman he came with, Susan Schayer, 34.
Police say they also noticed the 4-year-old wasn't wearing shoes and had no booster seat in the vehicle.
Schayer was arrested on one child neglect complaint. Her bond is set at $50,000.
