OWASSO, Okla. – Officers arrested an Owasso student for allegedly making threatening statements.

According to Owasso Deputy Chief of Police Jason B. Woodruff, they were alerted Tuesday morning by the administration at the Owasso 8th Grade Center that two students reported another student making threatening statements. According to the students, threats were made that a gun was going to be brought on campus to shoot them.

Woodruff said Owasso School Resource Officers located the 14-year-old suspect and removed him from class. Because of the age of the suspect, his name is not being released.

Owasso police say a CO2 powered pellet pistol was located inside the student’s backpack. He was placed under arrest on complaint of planning or threatening a violent act and taken to a juvenile detention center, say Owasso police.
