OWASSO, Okla. — Owasso police searched for a convicted sex offender they say was seen near a nine-year-old girl's bedroom window on Tuesday morning.

Anthony Robinson surrendered Tuesday night at the police department and was arrested on outstanding warrants for fraud in Nowata County, according to OPD.

A police spokesperson said investigators will forward a report to the district attorney on the alleged peeping incident.

A media release was issued Tuesday afternoon after reports Robinson was seen in the backyard of a residence. Owasso police said around 11:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of 15000 East 90 Place North in the Preston Lakes neighborhood. A witness said the man was in the fenced backyard of a neighbor's house, near the girl's window.

The man ran away after being confronted, police said. The man, identified by police as Robinson, fled the scene in a black Honda four-door sedan, which was occupied by another man.

The girl was not home during the incident, police said.

Robinson is a convicted sex offender from Ochelata. Robinson has a federal conviction for possession and distribution of child pornography.
