OWASSO, Okla. – High school and mid-high students in Owasso were temporarily forced to go on lockdown Wednesday for around 30 minutes, reports Owasso police.

Owasso authorities say they were informed that a former student was allegedly on campus at Owasso Mid-High and armed with a gun around 11 a.m. When they arrived, however, the suspect in question was not armed with a gun but appeared to have a pipe or baton.

When authorities found the juvenile suspect, he reportedly had a knife and an expandable baton with him, says Owasso police. In addition to the items, police were told that the suspect threatened or assaulted a student before entering the campus.

Authorities arrested the juvenile suspect on complaint of possessing weapons on school property and assault with a deadly weapon.

The lockdown was lifted 12:15 p.m.
