Posted

Recent rain has an Owasso family reaching out for help.

Their yard floods because of a drainage problem and they say the city has gone years without fixing it.

The 2 Works for You Problem Solvers called city hall.

A city spokesperson says they want to help, but can't install new drains without permission from the McClure family’s neighbor. The land occupied by an old appliance shop that is now vacant.

The City of Owasso agreed to sit down with the family to find a solution.

In the meantime, the city put sandbags on the fence line to help.

“Where was it years ago when we told them, before the problem got really bad,” Danny McClure questioned. “Why didn’t they talk to us then, why didn’t they sit with us then?”

Now with more rain in the forecast, the McClures are concerned about additional flooding.

They tell the Problem Solvers they hope the city will be able to fix the problem, but aren't getting their hopes up.

We will keep you posted on the status of their meeting.
