At 1:07 a.m., Tulsa Police Officers arrived on scene at 1443 S. Denver for reports of a stabbing.

Upon the initial investigation of the area officers were able to see a significant trail of blood that started in the street and led into the gas station.

Tulsa Firefighters and EMSA were already on scene tending to a male laying in a large pool of blood.

According to the report the victim and the suspect, Mikell Miller, had exchanged words before engaging in mutual combat.

At some point during the fight Miller drew a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

The victim fled into the gas station and Miller located a nearby TPD officer to tell them what had happened.

Miller claimed he stabbed someone in self-defense and wanted to turn himself in.

He also turned in the weapon to the officer that was used in the assault.

Miller has been booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
